Vrancken achieved notable success in Belgium, including a third-place finish with Sint-Truiden—that club's highest final ranking in six decades—and was named Trainer of the Year. Hearts are now in a period of rebuilding. With the departure of captain and top scorer Lawrence Shankland to Rangers, the transfer-free exit of Beni Beningime and the uncertain future prospects of several core players, Vrancken faces a major challenge. Despite these personnel changes, Hearts have already brought in seven new players, with only two coming from Scotland itself. Vrancken's assignment is to forge a close-knit and competitive team from these newcomers.
