Trent Alexander-Arnold: A Liverpool FC Legend
A product of the Liverpool Academy, Trent Alexander-Arnold achieved significant success with the club, including multiple trophies and personal accolades, before moving to Real Madrid.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is a true example of a local hero who made his dreams come true at Liverpool FC. Growing up in Liverpool, he watched the Reds players with admiration as a child and knew he wanted to be there too. Starting as a midfielder, a switch to right back made him one of the team's most influential players. His great insight into the game and technical skills have made him not only a defender, but also an important playmaker. With an impressive total of 86 assists in all competitions and 23 goals, Alexander-Arnold is showing that he can not only fulfill defensive duties, but also score and create.
He made his senior debut under coach Jürgen Klopp in October 2016 and was a regular in the first team from the following season. After a painful defeat in the 2018 Champions League final, he and his teammates' motivation to make history was stronger than ever. The following season they won the Champions League by beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in Madrid, after a spectacular comeback against Barcelona in the semi-final.
Alexander-Arnold was also crucial in Liverpool's Premier League triumph in the 2019-20 season, ending a 30-year wait for the club. “This is the award we all wanted as fans, as players, as a club,” he said upon collecting the trophy in July 2020. He was named PFA Young Player of the Year and continued to deliver excellent performances, with a personal best 18 assists in the 2021-22 season.
In the 2023-24 season, he became vice-captain under Virgil van Dijk and contributed to another title win in 2024-25. After 33 appearances in the league, the right back decided to leave Liverpool and continue his career at Real Madrid, where he will write his next chapter in football.
