Tottenham Hotspur Reaches Agreement for Newcastle United Midfielder: Good Acquisition for De Zerbi?
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali in a record deal. Tonali, who had a successful season at Newcastle, is expected to strengthen Spurs' midline.

Tonali had a good season with the Tyneside club, where he impressed with his play in midfield. The Italy international scored three goals and provided seven assists in 53 appearances for Newcastle in all competitions last season. The 26-year-old is currently one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League. It is therefore a smart move for Spurs to close this deal in the summer transfer period.
Tonali's current contract at Newcastle runs until the summer of 2028, which would make it difficult for Tottenham to sign him for a cheap fee later this year. He is a solid tackler and knows how to time his duels well to win the ball back for his team. He is also a neat passer and can also contribute to goals and assists from midfield.
