Roma wants to complete Greenwood deal quickly: OM maintains a price around €55 million
AS Roma wants to sign Mason Greenwood these days. There is already a personal agreement, but Fenerbahçe is stirring and Olympique Marseille is asking for approximately €55 million. Sporting director Tony D'Amico is trying to close the deal quickly.
With the June 30 deadline behind them, AS Roma shifts its focus entirely to incoming transfers to strengthen the selection for the training camp that starts in Trigoria on July 13. The technical staff hopes to welcome some newcomers there.
Mason Greenwood is the primary target. A personal agreement has already been reached with the 22-year-old wing attacker and after discussions with the technical management he became charmed by the presented project. Roma is also aiming for additional reinforcement up front to boost the overall level of the team.
According to reports in Italy, Roma are about to accelerate to actually bring Greenwood to Trigoria. However, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Fenerbahçe can throw a spanner in the works by joining the battle.
In the meantime, Olympique Marseille continues to firmly hold on to the asking price: approximately €55 million including bonuses. Sporting director Tony D'Amico will have to come up with a suitable offer to convince OM to let the attacker go.
For the French club, a departure of the 2001-born player could also help to alleviate the accounting deficit. Roma is working behind the scenes on a construction to finalize the transfer as quickly as possible.
