Rogers questions Villa's £130m price tag: 'Don't know if I'm worth it'
Morgan Rogers calls Aston Villa's alleged £130m price tag exaggerated and says he will not be distracted by transfer rumors as Arsenal show interest.
Morgan Rogers has responded in a nuanced way to reports that Aston Villa have placed an asking price of £130 million on him, as Arsenal are reportedly eyeing his signature. "I don't know if I'm worth all that!", the attacking midfielder said with a smile at England's World Cup training camp.
Rogers had a top season at Villa. Under Unai Emery, the club won the Europa League in 2025-26; in the final in Istanbul, Freiburg were defeated 3-0, ending a 44-year wait for European glory since winning the European Cup in 1982. In the competition, Rogers scored ten times and Villa finished fourth, in the top four for the second time in three seasons. Only Ollie Watkins was directly involved in more goals than Rogers, with 19 involvements in competition goals.
His form earned him a place in Thomas Tuchel's England World Cup squad and attracted interest from top clubs. According to English media, Villa want £130 million to consider a move, a figure that would surpass the £116 million Manchester City are reportedly paying to Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson - a new record for a British player.
Asked about that amount, Rogers remained matter-of-fact: "Of course it's nice to hear that. But I don't let outside noise dictate what I do. I stay focused, stay myself, stay the person who brought me here and try to keep improving. I don't really listen to things like that."
Villa will face the winner of the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain, on August 12 for the European Super Cup. The 2026-27 Premier League campaign opens at Brighton on August 23. A week later, on the weekend of August 29 or 30, Arsenal are the first visitors to Villa Park.
