Renard for duel with Orange: Tunisia wants to save honor after quick elimination

Tunisia is now ready for the World Cup after the 4-0 defeat against Japan, but national coach Hervé Renard wants his team to restore its honor in the last group match against the Netherlands. Afterwards, the Frenchman made an emphatic appeal to the pride of his players.

Renard was appointed this week as Sabri Lamouchi's successor to revive Tunisia's World Cup adventure, but that did not work. After the earlier 5-1 against Sweden, Japan also proved to be too big, resulting in Tunisia being the third country to be eliminated prematurely from this tournament.

“We cannot be satisfied with such a result,” Renard analyzed after the defeat. He acknowledged that morale is low, but emphasized that the team must keep going and show pride in the final match.

Tunisia closes the World Cup against the Netherlands on the night of Thursday to Friday. There is still something at stake for the Dutch: Ronald Koeman's team must secure the group win in Group F in that match. Tunisia has the best chance to end the tournament with its head held high.
