Real Madrid is optimistic about Nico Paz's return in 2027
Real Madrid have plans to exercise a buyback option for Nico Paz in 2027 after Como purchased the player's remaining shares for €60 million.
Spanish media report that Real Madrid are determined to exercise their €80 million buyback option for Nico Paz in 2027, after Como bought the remaining 50 percent of his rights for €60 million. This complex deal was confirmed yesterday by multiple sources in Italy and Spain, giving Paz the opportunity to continue his development under the leadership of Cesc Fabregas.
Como had acquired the player from Real Madrid's youth academy for €6 million in 2024, but the Merengues retained a 50 percent stake in his future sale, or a buyback option of €9 million in 2026 and €11 million in 2027. This option has not yet been activated, but Real Madrid this week informed Como of their intention, giving the Lariani the opportunity to buy the remaining 50 percent for €60 million. This brings the total market value of the Argentina international to €120 million.
Como has accepted the deal and will sign the papers in the coming days, but Real Madrid have negotiated a new €80 million buyback clause that is only valid for the summer of 2027. According to Diario AS, the Madrid side are confident they will exercise this option next year and bring the talent back to the Bernabéu. In the meantime, Nico Paz will have the opportunity to play regularly in Serie A and also in the Champions League, further developing his experience before making the jump to Madrid. Considering the amounts Como paid and the clauses, Real Madrid will ultimately get a fully developed Nico Paz back in 2027 for just €14 million. This is €80 million minus the €66 million in transfer fees paid between 2024 and 2026.
