Real Madrid and Dani Ceballos in talks about contract termination

Dani Ceballos' future at Real Madrid appears to be coming to an end. The Spanish midfielder, who extended his contract with the Royals last year in the hope of becoming a permanent fixture under Carlo Ancelotti, has hardly received any playing minutes in recent seasons and has increasingly disappeared from the first team.

Ceballos signed in 2023, promising an important role within the team. However, that promise was not kept and Ceballos spent most of his time on the bench. The prospect of playing time is also minimal under new coach Jose Mourinho, now that the Madrilenians want to structurally strengthen the midfield. Bernardo Silva, among others, has already been recruited and the names of Enzo Fernandez, Rodri and Mateus Fernandez are circulating as potential reinforcements.


According to Spanish media, the situation is now such that Real Madrid and Ceballos are in the process of terminating the contract by mutual agreement. This allows Ceballos to leave as a free agent and he is working on a possible return to his old club Real Betis. The Spaniard, who has always maintained a positive attitude despite his limited role, is hoping to revive his career at Betis.

For Real Madrid, Ceballos' departure means more space in the selection for new purchases and structural renewal of the midfield.
