Parma shows interest in Daniel Maldini: future depends on Atalanta and Sarri

Parma has officially expressed interest in Daniel Maldini, the attacker who is under contract with Atalanta and was on loan at Lazio last season. Maldini returned to Bergamo after a year under coach Maurizio Sarri, but it is unlikely that he will remain in blue and black for a long time. Atalanta will assess him early in the preparation, but are open to a permanent departure should an attractive offer arise.


However, Maldini's future is partly determined by the situation surrounding Gabriel Strefezza. Atalanta is in talks to possibly sign Strefezza, but negotiations with Olympiacos have not yet resulted in an agreement. Whether Atalanta lets Maldini go partly depends on the continuation of these transfer talks. In addition, a rental structure with mandatory purchase, depending on performance, is not excluded - unless Sarri still decides to add Maldini to the selection because of his specific qualities.

The situation was also influenced by Lazio's performance in the Coppa Italia. Had Lazio managed to win the final against Inter, Maldini might have been able to get a permanent role with the Romans for a transfer fee of more than ten million euros. Now Atalanta appears to be making similar demands for a possible sale. Last season, Maldini made 25 league appearances for Lazio, scoring twice and providing three assists.
