Norwegian sensation Schjelderup in the interest of Milan, Como and top clubs after a strong World Cup
Andreas Schjelderup, one of Europe's most sought-after young strikers, is attracting the attention of several top clubs, including Milan and Como, after his strong performance for Norway at the World Cup. Liverpool, Tottenham and Atlético Madrid have been following him for some time. Benfica has an asking price of approximately 30 million euros. With ten goals and seven assists last season, Schjelderup has been firmly in the spotlight.
Norwegian striker Andreas Schjelderup is impressing international scouts this summer thanks to his strong performance at the World Cup with Norway. According to various sources, Milan and Como are now also in the race for the talented wing attacker, while Liverpool, Tottenham and Atlético Madrid have previously shown serious interest.
Schjelderup, 22 years old, is under contract with Benfica. The Portuguese club seems to want to benefit from its rising market value after its recent performances: Benfica expects a transfer fee of around 30 million euros. This amount is considerably higher than the offer that Club Brugge made in January. After Schjelderup drew attention to himself with a decisive double against Real Madrid, coach José Mourinho decided to take him off the transfer market.
Parma also showed interest last winter, but did not reach an agreement. Board member Federico Cherubini confirmed afterwards that the deal was almost complete, but ultimately failed.

Schjelderup is a left-footed right winger who can also play excellently on the other side. Last season he scored ten goals and seven assists in 43 official matches for Benfica. With his contribution to the Norwegian World Cup selection - as a substitute and important in the 3-2 win over Senegal, which allowed Norway to reach the round of 16 - his international reputation rose rapidly.
Schjelderup's name has also been linked to FC Barcelona, as a possible replacement for Marcus Rashford. The Norwegian himself remained sober about those rumors: "It would be fantastic if those stories were true, but I don't know anything concrete at the moment."
With increasing interest from home and abroad, Benfica appears to be in a strong negotiating position once the transfer market opens.
