Napoli are targeting Javi Guerra as a possible successor to Anguissa in midfield

If Zambo Anguissa leaves Napoli this summer, the club has set its sights on Javi Guerra as a possible replacement. The Valencia midfielder is a top candidate on technical director Giovanni Manna's list. However, Valencia is asking more than 30 million euros for the 21-year-old Spanish talent, and does not seem to be planning to simply cooperate in a transfer.

Guerra had an excellent end to the season, with three goals and three assists in the last four league games. His performances have also been noticed by the Spanish national team, where he was recently called up as a reserve player. Although Atlético Madrid had 25 million euros for him two seasons ago, Valencia indicated this week that they wanted to hold on to their midfielder.


Javi Guerra himself recently announced that he is happy at Valencia: "I extended my contract last year and I want to stay here. It has always been my dream to play for this club."

On the other hand, Anguissa has attracted interest from Galatasaray, where he would have received a contract offer worth double his current salary at Napoli (around 5 million euros per year). The coming transfer summer will have to show whether there will actually be a changing of the guard in Napoli's midfield.
