The Ukrainian midfielder left Genoa at the end of the season and is now officially a player of the Turkish club, where he has signed a three-year contract until 2029. Upon arrival at the airport, he was welcomed by the Trabzonspor board, which underlines his enthusiasm for this new step.

In an interview with the media, 33-year-old Malinovskyi indicated that he noticed from day one that Trabzonspor's interest was genuine. "In the past, my former teammates Ekuban, Zubkov and Batagov also played here. They gave me the necessary information about the club," he said.

What particularly appealed to Malinovskyi were the conversations with trainer Fatih Tekke. "The way he talked about football impressed me. The chance to play in the Europa League also influenced my choice. I would like to thank everyone for this opportunity,” he added.

The midfielder also spoke about his role within the team: "We talked about my positions and what I have done in the past. We are a team with young players and I want to be an example for my teammates. This will not only be on the field, but also during training and off the field. I will try to guide them.”

Malinovskyi, who is playing in the Süper Lig for the first time, reflected on his experiences in Turkey. “During my long years in Ukraine, we always made training camps in Turkey. I know the people here are warm and passionate. I am aware of how beautiful this country is. The cultures are different, but I always say that we have to adapt.

With a view to the new season, the ex-Genoa player emphasized the importance of good preparation. “We have to focus on the competition and ensure proper preparation. I can play in different positions. I have mainly played in a defensive role in midfield, closer to the defense, to set up the game. I have also played as a number 10. I am willing to play wherever the team needs me. I am a player who can play different roles.”
