Liverpool close to astronomical deal for Yan Diomande
Liverpool is reportedly close to signing Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig for €130m, with the club aggressively pursuing the deal amid competition from PSG, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich.
Liverpool are planning to sign Yan Diomande in the coming transfer window. It seems inevitable that Richard Hughes will be involved in the bidding for the Ivorian international, who has a price tag of €130 million. The outgoing Premier League champions have been following the attacker for some time - the first rumors of a move to Anfield already appeared in October last year.
19-year-old Diomande moved from Leganes to RB Leipzig last summer for a reasonable fee of just £18 million. He quickly adapted to life in the Bundesliga, scoring 13 goals in his debut season and putting himself in the spotlight for a move to a bigger club.

Diomande is contracted until 2030, leaving RB Leipzig in control of his future and the club are expected to offer him a new contract once he returns from the World Cup. Liverpool's desire to sign him has been hampered by competition from other clubs. Paris Saint-Germain is also looking to land the rising African superstar, making it an attractive destination for young wingers. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could also be interested, but the Germans are not willing to pay that much for his signature.
Despite this, a report in Fussball Daten offers hope for Liverpool fans hoping for Diomande's arrival, as it reports that the club is close to completing a spectacular deal that will far exceed PSG's offer. Liverpool have maintained intensive contact with Diomande's entourage and are planning to offer the youngster a huge contract on Merseyside.
With the departure of Mohamed Salah, sporting director Richard Hughes could allocate a large part of the Egyptian king's salary to Diomande. "The club most aggressive in this race to guarantee Diomande a starting place is without a doubt Liverpool," the report said. "The English giants are close to completing the transfer, having been in almost daily contact with the player's representatives since the winter transfer window. The Merseyside club has identified this signing as a top priority for the new season. With an astronomical salary offer to tempt the player and a stronger position on his personal terms, Liverpool currently have the best credentials in the transfer battle. There are also reports that legendary club leaders are directly involved in the negotiations to further increase the pressure.
