Leicester City fans react to Russell Martin's appointment as new manager

Russell Martin is the new manager of Leicester City, with the aim of returning the team to the Championship as quickly as possible. **Keith** - "We have to realize we are a Third Division club and the board have done a good job appointing someone with significant experience. Let's give him a chance. Who wanted Claudio Ranieri and look what happened there?"

**Steve** - "I don't think there is a single Leicester City fan who wants Russell Martin as our manager. In fact, if you asked any Leicester fans who we would most not want as our new manager, his name would be at the top of the list. Leicester City are facing a relegation battle next season."

**Simon** - "It's a strong appointment for League One and a logical choice given that Leicester are likely to have most of the ball in most games regardless of who is in charge. My main thought is that whatever happens early in the season, he should be given a good chance to implement his principles. Leicester have sacked managers early on several occasions under pressure from the fans, leading to relegations."

**Neil** - "It's not just the manager, the players were our problem last season. It all depends on who we bring in for the start of the season. At the moment we don't have a good striker and we didn't have one last season either. A new season, a new team, and we'll have to wait and see which players Russell Martin can bring in."

**Basil** - "I will support him because there is no point in dwelling on this, regardless of what we think of him. He needs to show the humility he has not shown elsewhere so that the Leicester fans get behind him, and that is my biggest concern."
