Ronald Koeman junior extends his contract with Telstar for two seasons after a successful season in which he helped prevent relegation.
Ronald Koeman junior is retained for the Eredivisie. The goalkeeper seemed to be on his way out of Telstar, but has extended his expiring contract for two seasons. In May, VI wrote that Real Valladolid was angling for the services of Koeman. A deal was not reached and it now appears that the son of the departed national coach will remain active in the Netherlands. Koeman junior is heading into his sixth season at Telstar. The goalkeeper had a turbulent year in Velsen-Zuid last season. Relegation was only averted in the last round, with a special climax against FC Volendam. Koeman himself took the penalty in the 89th minute that helped Telstar to the 1-2 victory and thus their survival. For the second season in a row, Telstar had a memorable season ending. The year before, the White Lions were promoted from the Kitchen Champion Division, after surviving all rounds in the play-offs. Even then, Koeman was the regular choice under the bar.
