Hong Myung-bo praises his Korea: "Deserved victory, now we focus on Mexico"

South Korea staged a fine comeback by beating the Czech Republic 2-1 to move level on three points with Mexico in Group A. The first half was an even contest between South Korea and the Czech Republic. The Asian team tried to be offensive, but Kovar kept his goal clear. The breakthrough came in the second half; in the 59th minute Krejci headed the Czech team into the lead. But in the 67th minute, Hwang In-Boem equalized for South Korea. In the 79th minute, South Korea turned the situation around thanks to a good move by Besiktas striker Oh Hyeon-Gyu. Hong Myung-bo, South Korea's national coach, gave his reaction to the victory: "This was our first match and it was very difficult. I am happy with the victory, but the most important thing is that the boys never gave up. I knew we were capable of winning, so at 1-1 I told the boys to continue as we did. Now Mexico is another important match. We will spend the next week preparing."
