Norway won 2-1 against Ivory Coast in the sixteenth finals of the 2026 World Cup. Nusa opened the scoring (39'), Diallo equalized (74'), after which Haaland scored the winner in the 86th minute. Brazil awaits in the eighth finals.
Norway has qualified for the eighth finals of the 2026 World Cup. In the sixteenth finals, the team was too strong for Ivory Coast 2-1 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington (Texas, United States).
Antonio Nusa opened the scoring just before half-time: in the 39th minute he put Norway up 1-0. Ivory Coast fought back after the break; Amad Diallo equalized in the 74th minute. The decision only came in the final phase, when Erling Haaland scored the 2-1 in the 86th minute and thus secured the Norwegian ticket for the next round.
The match was officiated by referee Jesús Valenzuela (Portuguesa, Venezuela). The match was played in a lively atmosphere in Arlington, where both countries kept a long view of a place in the next round.
With the victory, Norway will meet Brazil in the eighth finals. For context, the current world champions are Argentina, who won on penalties against France in the 2022 final after a 3-3 draw in regular time and extra time.
