Fiorentina expects Viery for a medical examination and signature early next week
Fabio Paratici kicks off Fiorentina's transfer summer with the arrival of Viery. The Brazilian defender has reached an agreement between the clubs and will travel to Florence early next week for his medical examination and a contract until 2031. Fiorentina moved faster than the competition, including Juventus, and reached a deal with Grêmio of 15 million euros plus 2 million in bonuses, outside the heavy clause of 50 million.
Fabio Paratici has set the Fiorentina transfer market in motion. While some outgoing deals are still being worked on, the sporting director has completed the first major file: an agreement has been reached with Grêmio on the Brazilian defender Viery, born in 2005.
After recent discussions with the Commisso family, Fiorentina moved on to the executive phase. The clubs have already exchanged documentation and Viery is expected in Florence at the beginning of next week to pass the medical examination and sign. He is then signed for five seasons, with a contract until June 2031.
Fiorentina increased the pace and managed to leave the competition, including Juventus, behind. To complete the deal, Paratici opted to negotiate directly with Grêmio, bypassing the onerous buyout clause of 50 million euros in the player's contract. The agreement includes a fixed sum of 15 million euros, plus a maximum of 2 million euros in bonuses, bringing the total amount up to 17 million euros.
