Fabio Chiarodia extends contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach until 2028

Fabio Chiarodia has extended his contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach until June 2028. The German club confirmed the new contract of the young central defender, who recently made his debut for the Italian national team.

Sports director Rouven Schröder explained the choice: "Fabio is a young defender with enormous potential, which he has already shown with us and with Italy. Now it is time for him to take the definitive step to the top. We want to guide him in this. This contract is the result of mutual trust and the belief that his next career step belongs to Mönchengladbach."


Chiarodia himself was pleased with the extension and looked back on his development. "I have improved every year since I came to Mönchengladbach. I have grown as a footballer and got more and more playing minutes. After my injury last season, I clearly felt the confidence of the club," said Chiarodia. He also said that the conversations with assistant coach Eugen Polanski and Schröder were very positive: "We discussed the future plans openly. That was the deciding factor for me to extend. I have great ambitions for what is yet to come."

Chiarodia therefore remains one of the young growth talents within the Borussia Mönchengladbach selection, which continues to focus on talent development and stability for the future.
