De Vrij is considering leaving Inter: Italian top club is looking for replacements

Stefan de Vrij can exchange Internazionale this summer for a new adventure outside Italy. The central defender of the Dutch team, who has now been active in Serie A for twelve years, is considering a switch now that his contract negotiations with Inter have not yet led to an agreement. The club still sees De Vrij as a valued force and has regularly indicated that it would like to extend his contract. Yet on De Vrij's side the desire to take on a new challenge elsewhere is gaining more and more ground.

According to Italian media, including transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, talks have recently intensified. There is no certainty about the future yet, but it is clear that if De Vrij leaves, Inter will probably have to attract not one but even two defensive reinforcements.


Inter is therefore busy on the transfer market. Goalkeepers like Provedel and defenders like Solet are on the list. In addition, the club is trying to secure the services of Atalanta's promising Palestra. However, negotiations about this are difficult. Inter has already increased the opening bid from around 40 million euros including bonuses to around 45 million, but Atalanta is sticking to an asking price of 55 million euros. Despite interest from the Premier League, among others, Palestra expresses his preference for a move to Milan.

The coming weeks will be decisive: will De Vrij stay in Italy, or will the experienced international opt for an adventure abroad? And will Inter receive the desired reinforcements in time?
