Hoefkens' promotion wish: contrarian NAC is looking for a target man

NAC Breda is determined to return to the Eredivisie quickly. The club, which was relegated last season, confirmed on Thursday that coach Carl Hoefkens will continue in his position. At the same time, they are actively looking for reinforcements for the selection.

Last season it was clear where NAC fell short: goals. The people of Breda have struggled to score, resulting in a number of unfortunate results. In the Kitchen Champion Division it is essential to score a lot of goals to stay at the top.

The majority of the player group remains intact, allowing NAC to quickly respond to the largest gaps in the selection, especially in the vanguard. Hoefkens had the opportunity this week to sign a contract with OH Leuven, with the opportunity to earn a significantly higher salary, but decided not to take it.

However, the coach has made clear demands. Over the past year, he has repeatedly argued for qualitative reinforcement during peak hours, but due to various factors this was never realized. Hoefkens wants to play specifically for the championship and has therefore asked for guarantees to realize his plans.
