Carnevali's absence at charity gala points to possible Juventus transfer of Kolo Muani
Juventus manager Giovanni Carnevali was conspicuous by his absence at the 'United for Meyer' charity gala in Italy, as he was reportedly busy with negotiations in the transfer market. Juventus, among others, is linked with Kolo Muani from PSG, after a rejected opening bid. The club would like clarity before July 13 to strengthen coach Spalletti.
During the seventh edition of the benefit gala 'United for Meyer', held at Andrea Bocelli's estate in Tuscany, the absence of Juventus director Giovanni Carnevali was particularly noticeable. Several leaders from Italian football were present, such as Adriano Galliani, Alessandro Moggi and Piero Ausilio, but Carnevali noticeably stayed away from Villa Alpebella.
Galliani quipped during the event: "I just called him. He said he couldn't come because he is still active on the transfer market near Forte dei Marmi. But I am not allowed to say which player it is," said Galliani, quoted by Tuttosport.
According to Italian media, it is all about the striker position at Juventus. There is plenty of speculation about the arrival of Kolo Muani, currently a player at Paris Saint-Germain. Juventus has already made an initial offer of 33 million euros, but was rejected. The club management is now considering making a higher offer, towards the 40 million euros desired by PSG. A construction with a rental period and mandatory purchase clause is on the table.
Juventus hopes to complete the negotiations in a timely manner, preferably before the start of pre-season on July 13. Coach Luciano Spalletti can therefore count on an early offensive reinforcement for the new season.
