Who will be promoted from the 3. Liga to the 2. Handball Bundesliga? Six third division clubs compete for two places in the entry round. ASV Hamm-Westfalen has achieved three wins from four matches and is therefore unattainably leading the group 1. The final match on Saturday between HG Saarlouis and MTV Braunschweig is of little importance for the promotion. The situation is very different in group 2, where TV Emsdetten has temporarily taken the lead with a dominant victory over EHV Aue and has put TV Gelnhausen under pressure. The Hessians now have to win their home game against the Saxons. However, because they won the direct match on equal points with Emsdetten, a simple victory over EHV would also be sufficient. The team of legendary trainer Uwe Jungandreas can only take second place, but will also play in the third division again next season.
